Welcome
Hello, I'm Amanda. I'm a fifth year, Computer Science major at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. My specializations (a.k.a. Threads) are Media and Platforms. Combine those together and you get a specialization in applications development. I am planning to graduate with a Bachelors degree in Computer Science on December 17, 2010. I am looking to pursue a full-time position in software engineering.Experience
Having been designing and coding web sites by hand since the age of twelve, my skill set pertaining to web development has grown to include XHTML, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), PHP, Java, JavaScript, ASP, C#/ASP .NET, VB, MySQL, and database normalization. Most of the skills listed here are self-taught, though a good portion of them have been acquired by means of courses at Georgia Tech as well as experience in the field thanks to my co-op - I was a Programmer Analyst co-op at the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations for five and a half semesters, the equivalent of almost two years in industry. My application development skills are strongest for Windows platforms, but I do have a small bit of experience with Unix. I learned Java, C, C++, and some assembly language at Georgia Tech. My co-op position gave me about two years of experience with ASP (classic and upward), XAML, and MS Access.
